Sarasota Bradenton International Announces Newly Elected Board Officers
At its November 20, 2017 Regular Board Meeting, the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority unanimously elected Commissioner Bob Spencer as Chairman for 2018.   Mr. Spencer served previously as Vice Chairman in 2017.  He was appointed to the board in September 2015 by Governor Rick Scott.  Chairman Spencer is President of West Coast Tomato, a family-owned agricultural operation owning tomato farms and real estate in the southwest Florida area.  He presently serves on various foundations and charitable organizations in Manatee County, Chairman Spencer stated, “I am very pleased to serve as the next Chairman of the Airport Authority and look forward to another year of continued development and success for the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority.   The Board will continue to focus on increasing the number of flights available for the SRQ customers.”

Completing the officers for the Airport Authority board will be Dr. Peter A. Wish as Vice Chairman, who was appointed to the Board in 2013 and served as past Chairman (2014-15); and Doug Holder as Secretary, who was appointed to the Board in 2015 and served in the Florida legislature as a Representative from House District 74 from 2006 through 2014.
