SARASOTA BRADENTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OFFERING ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS

Monday, May 23, 2016 Sarasota/Manatee Distribution   Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability initiatives, customer service, and the local community, the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority (SMAA) is pleased to announce the installation of 8 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ). Located in the short term parking lot, the level-2 charging stations will allow travelers with electric vehicles to easily recharge their cars. “Providing these EV charging stations to our patrons is consistent with our ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability throughout the airport,” said Rick Piccolo, SRQ’s President, Chief Executive Officer. “It furthermore complements our existing reputation of offering a convenient, stress-free, and smooth travel experience.” The EV charging stations are complimentary for SRQ customers parking an electric vehicle in the short term lot. The airport installed the charging facilities in response to the growing number of travelers who drive electric vehicles. The stations are conveniently located in the short term parking lot in front of the terminal building; a move that is intended to raise awareness and promote the use of alternative fuel vehicles. Pending on its success, the SMAA will consider adding additional EV charging stations in the future. -***- Contact: Rick Piccolo, President, Chief Executive Officer Tel.
