SRQ Nonstop Flights to Philadelphia (PHL) on American Airlines To Become Daily
American Airlines announced it has increased the frequency of nonstop flights from Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The Philadelphia service is currently offered on weekends only but will change to daily starting December 18th. The service will be provided utilizing Embraer 175 aircraft.
The nonstop Philadelphia service started on January 12, 2019 and was one of 3 new destinations offered this past season by American Airlines. The other 2 destinations added were Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX (DFW) and Chicago, IL (ORD). These new destinations were added to complement the existing daily service provided to Charlotte, NC (CLT) and Washington, DC (DCA).
For next year’s 2019/2020 peak season, American Airlines will provide daily service to all 5 of its destinations served from SRQ including Charlotte, NC (CLT), Washington, DC (DCA), Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX (DFW), Chicago, IL (ORD), and Philadelphia, PA (PHL).

For the first 4 months of this year, passenger traffic on American Airlines increased from 81,262 passenger to 128,505 passengers, a 58% increase over the first 4 months of 2018. With more destination choices, added frequency of flights, and larger aircraft being utilized like the Airbus A319 and A320, we have seen American Airlines grow substantially at SRQ over the past year. We look forward to seeing continued growth as both the local community and visitors benefit from the increase in service,” said Rick Piccolo, Sarasota Bradenton International Airport President, Chief Executive Officer.
