Important Notice: The Authority is a Tobacco Free Workplace and will not hire any applicant who is a user of any tobacco/smoking products.  All applicants will be required to sign an affidavit affirming they have not been a user of tobacco products for at least one (1) year preceding their application of employment.  In addition, applicants will be screened for tobacco use during the new-hire drug screening process.  All employees hired based on applications received on or after July 1, 2009 must remain  non-tobacco users.  Tobacco products include common smoke-producing materials such as cigarettes, cigars, pipes, hookahs, etc., as well as smokeless tobacco such as snuff, chew-gutka, jarda, betel quid, etc.   It also covers articles that mimic the act of smoking such as an electronic cigarette (or e-cigarette), personal vaporizer (PV) or electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS). Minimum qualifications must be met by the closing date in order to be considered eligible. Résumés may be submitted as supplements, but cannot be accepted in lieu of an application. Your application will not be considered unless complete answers are provided to all questions on the application. Information submitted on your application regarding training, experience and education will be verified. Résumés, Veterans' Preference documentation, reference names, etc. must be submitted at the time of application. In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act, appropriate identification documents verifying eligibility for employment will be required for those applicants who are hired. Preference in hiring will be extended to eligible veterans and spouses of veterans.  To receive Veterans' preference, documentation must be submitted at the time of application. PROCESSING YOUR APPLICATION Your application will be reviewed by the Human Resources department.  If the information provided on your application is complete and reflects that you meet the minimum qualifications, it will be referred in accordance with established SMAA hiring procedures.   All QUALIFIED applications will be forwarded to the department in which the career opening exists.  The hiring manager for that department will select the applicants to be interviewed and schedule the  appointments.  All applicants will be notified by post card when the position has been filled.
